Best American Poetry series

I was wondering about how people feel about David Lehman's Best American Poetry anthologies.

Do you love them?
Do you hate them?
Do you read them?

I read them on and off. But it seems most of the poetry comes from academia. Take a look at:

It's Jeff Bahr's statistical analysis on who gets published in BAP.

      Great link.

It explains a lot of what I don't like about BAP. I wonder if Lehman and co. have taken this sort of criticism seriously, because I noticed in the 2004 book there is a poem by Will Alexander, who I'd not call academic.

On another note, I just picked up Lehman's prose poetry anthology and it full of the same damn poets as BAP!
